On June 15, we reported a story about Posiano Turyahebwa, 40, who allegedly killed his wife before murdering his neighbour's wife in Kyarufubangi Cell, Kanyansheko Ward, Kagongo Division, Ibanda Municipality.
The suspect then proceeded to make phone calls informing relatives of his wife, Phionah Nsimenta (deceased), that he had killed her and Oliver Nalugo, the wife of his neighbour, Emmanuel Tumusiime.

After one month and three weeks of police hunt, Turyahebwa was arrested from Bugarihe Village in Kazo District by a group of councillors who alerted security guards that took him to Kazo Police Station.

Mr. Godwin Guma Nabireba, the Deputy District Resident Commissioner of Ibanda, confirming the incident, explained that the suspect was identified by locals who alerted a councillor who cooperated with the area LC1 Chairperson to have Turyahebwa arrested.
"We have been hunting a man who slaughtered his wife and also a neighbour's wife. Our police have been working with our sister stations around the area, and we managed to find him in Bugarihe Trading Centre in Kazo District," he said.

According to the information, Mr. Turyahebwa was identified by a local who informed one Tumusiime, a councillor in Kazo District, who then informed the LC1 Chairperson of Bugarihe Village to have the suspect arrested.
"I thank the councillor because he was alerted, and he worked with the area LC1 Chairperson, who invited security guards in the village that arrested him and took him to Kazo Police Station," he further stated.
The suspect is now at Ibanda Central Police Station, where he is being interrogated.

During the interrogation at Ibanda Central Police Station, the suspect confessed to the actions, admitting to the murder without showing remorse.
"Our police picked him up from Kazo Police Station, and he has been interrogated. He still admits that he killed them and regrets nothing. His file is ready, and he shall be produced in court either Monday or Tuesday. The rest shall be determined by the court," he stated.
