Mukono
Kibuli Secondary School has continued to prove its all-round sports dominance in secondary school competitions in Uganda through its consistent superiority in racket games.
At the just concluded USSSA Ball Games I held at Seroma Christian High School in Mukono, Kibuli successfully defended all five of its gold titles.
The 10-time national boys' football champions, who also boast two FEASSA football titles, came to Mukono with a 12-year unbeaten record in boys' and girls' lawn tennis and maintained it, with International School Sport Federation (ISF) bronze medalist Kato Said Musa leading the boys' side. It was therefore no surprise that he was named MVP. Kibuli SS also maintained its 11-year dominance in boys' badminton by successfully defending the title once again, defeating Kinawa High School in the finals.
In table tennis, a discipline they have dominated since 2022, the boys defeated hosts Seroma Christian High School and Mbogo College respectively, while the girls overcame stiff competition from Mbogo High School and Mbogo Mixed to retain their title.
The stiffest challenge, however, came in tennis, where the Seroma boys stretched the contest to the limit but eventually fell short against the brilliance of Kato Said Musa. The girls also battled past Nabisunsa Girls' School and Gayaza High School to retain their accolade.
Kibuli Secondary School remains the most decorated side in these competitions, having repeatedly won gold medals in racket games over the years.
Boasting young talents across all five disciplines who have successfully represented Uganda at international and regional age-category competitions, Kibuli remains the team to beat in these sports.
Their only remaining comeback target lies in boys' and girls' basketball, as well as netball, where they once also excelled on the podium.
