Dire Dawa, Ethiopia
Uganda U17 national team head coach, Layrea Kingston, says his side will take one game at a time as they work toward their ultimate target at the ongoing TotalEnergies U17 CECAFA Region Qualifiers in Ethiopia.
On his first assignment as head coach of the national junior teams, Kingston guided his team to a 4–0 victory over Burundi in their opening Group B match at Dire Dawa Stadium on Saturday.
Uganda faces Sudan tomorrow (Tuesday) at the same stadium. After Monday's training session, Kingston expressed readiness for the match, saying his boys are prepared to deliver an even better performance.
After the Sudan clash, Uganda will take on arch-rivals Tanzania on November 21 in a highly anticipated encounter that is expected to shape the group standings. Tanzania began their campaign with a commanding 6–0 win over Sudan on Saturday.
Defending champions Uganda will conclude their group fixtures with a final match against Djibouti on November 27 before relocating to Addis Ababa, where the semifinals, third-place playoff, and final will be held from November 30 to December 2.
