USSSA boys’ semifinals
Final (Tuesday)
The first-ever finale of its kind in the history of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys’ football championship will be witnessed on Tuesday when Bukedea Comprehensive School South and Amus College School face off at Lira Town College grounds in Lira City. It is dubbed the first of its kind because never before have two schools from the Teso zone met in the final since the inception of the competition in the 1980s.
It is also a unique showdown, pitting two football rivals from the Teso zone against each other, whereas for many years the finals have been dominated by schools from Wakiso and Kampala.

However, the two newly emerged football giants booked their places in the coveted final after both eliminating Wakiso giants in the semifinals on Monday.
Bukedea Comprehensive School South were first to advance after edging slick-playing Kyadondo SS, the Wakiso zone finalists, 1-0 thanks to Patrick Ssenkusu’s second-half strike that separated the two sides.
Then came the chaotic Amus College versus St Mary’s Kitende semifinal, where every passing second was a tense moment, with officials from both sides almost clashing as match officials struggled to keep control until the final whistle.

The allotted minutes ended in a barren draw before the game was decided by a penalty shootout. At the final whistle, Kitende’s woes continued as they lost 4-1 on penalties.
While Bukedea are the reigning East Africa boys’ champions and are featuring in the national championship for the first time, Amus previously reached the final in 2024 in Masaka, where they lost to St Julian.

Kyadondo SS will, however, celebrate the milestone of reaching their maiden FEASSA games after improving from quarterfinalists to semifinalists.
The championship, which has been hosted in Lira City for the last nine days and attracted 64 teams from the 19 zones across Uganda, will climax on Tuesday with the finals and award ceremony.
