Mugisha Vincent was charged for obtaining money by false pretenses and cheating

Kyenjojo

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU), working in collaboration with the Uganda Police Force in Kyenjojo District, has arraigned Mugisha Vincent before the Kyenjojo Chief Magistrate’s Court on charges of obtaining money by false pretenses and cheating.

Mugisha, who has been the subject of numerous land-related complaints in the region, was arrested following fresh allegations of fraud. Several cases involving land grabbing, trespass, and malicious damage to property had earlier been reported against him at Kyenjojo Police Station, particularly in Ganyinayo Village, Kihuura Sub-county, Kyenjojo District.

According to the prosecution, between March and September 2025, in Kyenjojo District and Kampala City, Mugisha allegedly defrauded Kababiito Sylvia of UGX 11 million by falsely claiming that he was selling her cattle — a transaction that later turned out to be fake.

Authorities further revealed that investigations are ongoing into Mugisha’s alleged involvement in multiple land-grabbing incidents, where he is accused of illegally taking over several plots of land belonging to different residents.

In Court: Mugisha Vincent

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit has assured the public that all individuals implicated in land fraud and related offenses will face justice as part of ongoing efforts to curb corruption and protect property rights.
