Mukono – The territorial police at Nagalama have successfully rescued 51 individuals from a suspected human trafficking operation linked to AIM Global Alliance, a networking company accused of luring victims with false job promises. The rescue operation, conducted on April 2, 2025, at around 10:00 AM, followed a tip-off about individuals being conned under the guise of job recruitment in the Naggalama Division.
How the scheme operated
According to police reports, victims were promised lucrative job opportunities but were required to pay UGX 150,000 upon reporting, allegedly for training. Once recruited, victims had their phones confiscated and were then coerced into recruiting their friends and relatives, who were also required to pay UGX 1,500,000 to buy company products. The company claimed that successful recruits could eventually earn up to UGX 1,000,000 per month, depending on the number of people they recruited and the sales they made.
Rescue operations across Kalagi
The police conducted operations in different areas of Kalagi, uncovering victims living in overcrowded and inhumane conditions:
Arrests and legal action
