Kampala – Uganda has taken a bold step into the global firefighting industry with the unveiling of an innovative locally-made firefighting vehicle, branded the “Muliro Eater.”
The prototype was officially presented to ambassadors from the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the European Union by President Museveni during a high-level meeting at State house.

Speaking at the event, the Museveni expressed optimism that the new technology would attract international buyers, citing its unique combination of African firefighting tactics and military tank technology.
“Having frequently watched on TV as fires devastated towns and regions in these countries, I was inspired to develop a solution that merges our homegrown firefighting methods with armored tank design,” he said.
“The Muliro Eater is not just a product but a symbol of African innovation. We hope global partners will embrace this proposal and become clients.”
Officials said the vehicle is designed to withstand extreme conditions, offering superior mobility and effectiveness in containing large-scale fires. Museveni further described the initiative as part of Uganda’s commitment to philanthropy, technology transfer, and promoting African innovations on the global stage.
