Hundreds of supporters on Tuesday turned up at Njeru Village in Ryeishe Parish, Ibaare Sub-county, to welcome Bushenyi District Woman MP aspirant Vianah Kemigisha Kashaya, who is campaigning under the slogan Nyamunyonyi. Kemigisha, who was yesterday in Kyamuhunga and today in Ibaare arrived aboard a tuku-tuku motor vehicle, and was received by cheering crowds—mainly youth and women—chanting “Nyamunyonyi,” a Runyankore word meaning a beautiful woman.

While speaking at Njeru Village, Kemigisha pledged to strengthen health service delivery in Bushenyi District by advocating for the establishment of Health Centre IIIs in every sub-county, working closely with the central government. She also promised to focus on boosting household incomes and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
Kemigisha noted that the district’s health performance has deteriorated due to poor supervision by the current political leadership. “In Bushenyi District last year, we lost about 100 children during childbirth, and several mothers died because of poor service delivery. I will ensure that we fix this problem so that mothers and newborns get the attention they deserve,” she said.
Kanyesigye Ricky, a resident of Bushenyi, urged Kemigisha to prioritise youth employment, noting that many young people spend most of their time in betting centres.
Kemigisha is expected to continue her campaign trail on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, in Bitooma Town Council, with rallies scheduled as follows:
Nyanga Parish – Nyanga Headquarters – 12:00pm, Kakiira – Omubunwa T/C – 1:00pm, Kashambya – Omukihangire T/C – 2:00pm, Rwanzira – Rwanzira T/C – 3:00pm, Bitooma – Bitooma T/C – 4:00pm
