It has been ten seasons of the Chaapa League, but in all these outings, there has never been a finale played on their own home grounds in Ruharo, Mbarara City.
This Saturday, however, marks a triumphant homecoming for the Mbarara High School Old Boys in their famous Chaapa League, whose grand finale for this season will be held at their own playgrounds.
The event, which will see the best eight teams lock horns in the quarterfinals before advancing to the semis and finals, is expected to thrill as the “Bulls” battle for the top accolade—a shield deliberately designed to fit the Bulls Empire slogan.

While addressing the press at the official launch of the event on Wednesday afternoon, Chaapa League chairman Kennedy Gumisiriza said this will be the most exciting climax of the season, especially since it will be staged in front of the home crowd.
“It will be the most exciting event of all we have had, as the old boys tussle it out for glory in front of the young lads. On top of the action on the pitch, there will be interaction between the old boys and the current students, where guidance and all-important tips for future prosperity will be shared,” Gumisiriza said.

He also highlighted the achievements registered over the years since the inception of this annual competition, with social networking and community involvement through health services topping the list.
“We have surely registered great success in reference to achieving the objectives of the founders. The social networking, the ‘Save a Life’ contributions, the community involvement, the career guidance to our young brothers, the support to our school, and the permanent relationships that have resulted can all tell the story,” he said.

The school head prefect, Kennedy Kushaka, could not hide his excitement and the anticipation among students ahead of the event.
“We are blessed to have you—our senior brothers, parents, and old boys—bring this great event here at school. As students, we are eagerly waiting to watch you in action, cheer you on the field, and above all, interact with you for guidance. We thank you very much for starting this great idea and, most importantly, for bringing the Season 10 climax to the Bulls Kraal.”
The competition will kick off with the quarterfinals, where eight teams—Dingiswayo, Yobo Yobo, Siifa, Musamatu, Chogm, Sukukulu, Old Timers, and Badizo—will battle for a place in the semis before the grand finale.
