The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities is pursuing a major international sponsorship deal with top English Premier League clubs, aiming to place the “Visit Uganda” brand on matchday jerseys in one of the world’s most-watched football leagues.

State Minister for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities designate, Hon. Susan Nakawuki Nsambu, confirmed the development while addressing the press shortly after her successful vetting by Parliament’s Appointments Committee today.
“We are currently in negotiations with several English Premier League clubs to feature our country’s name, ‘Visit Uganda,’ on their match jerseys,” Nakawuki Nsambu said.

The initiative forms part of Uganda’s aggressive tourism promotion strategy aimed at increasing international visibility and attracting more visitors to the country.

Reliable sources indicate that Uganda has shown particular interest in partnering with Manchester United, although talks with the Red Devils are still at an early stage and have not yet reached advanced negotiations.

If successful, the sponsorship would mark a significant milestone for Uganda’s tourism branding, leveraging the global audience of the Premier League, which reaches hundreds of millions of viewers weekly.
Hon. Nakawuki Nsambu expressed optimism about the potential deal, describing it as a game-changer for positioning Uganda as a premier tourist destination.

The ministry is expected to provide further updates on the negotiations in the coming weeks as discussions continue with interested clubs.
