Bushenyi – Police in Bushenyi District are investigating the circumstances under which a 25-year-old student at Uganda Technical College Bushenyi was murdered in cold blood. The incident occurred on the night of March 18, 2025, at an unknown time, in Kahaya Village, Rwentuha Town Council, Bushenyi District.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Kawesi Vincent, 25, a student at Uganda Technical College Bushenyi, commonly known as Kahaya. It is alleged that on the evening of March 18, 2025, the deceased left the college to go out for leisure.
However, on March 19, 2025, at around 7:30 AM, his body was found lying by the roadside along the Bushenyi-Mbarara Highway by local residents, who immediately alerted the police. Tumusiime reported that the deceased was discovered lying on his chest, with blood oozing from his mouth and nose, and his neck appeared loose, suggesting possible foul play.
According to a preliminary police investigation, the deceased may have died due to strangulation.
The body was transported to Kampala International Teaching Hospital, Ishaka, for a postmortem examination as investigations continue.
