A Confederation of African Football (CAF) delegation has kick-started meetings with high-level representatives from the PAMOJA host nations of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2027—Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda—in Kampala.
The high-level meeting, which started on Wednesday at Mestil Hotel in Kampala, attracted PAMOJA delegations comprising government ministers and the three FA presidents: Hussein Mohammed (Kenya), Wallace Karia (Tanzania), and Uganda’s Moses H. Magogo.
The CAF delegation is being led by Acting General Secretary Samson Adamu.
In his opening remarks, host Magogo welcomed the delegates and reaffirmed Uganda as a home for African football.

He extended gratitude to the Government of Uganda and partner states in East Africa for supporting the historic bid to host AFCON 2027.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank the Government of Uganda, Honourable Minister, on behalf of the football fraternity of Uganda and East Africa, for accepting our proposal to bid for AFCON for the first time in the East African region. We approached our respective governments, and our Presidents supported the initiative,” he noted.
“We presented our bid to the Confederation of African Football, and they awarded us the rights to host AFCON in 2027. That is why we are here today,” he added.
