There was no girls action as the sport that has remained on a low key in the region, is yet to attract girls teams.
"We are still working hard to make sure that we have more schools take on rugby in the region starting from Masaka down to Kigezi and we are happy that in Masaka ithas picked up while in Ankole and Kigezi, the traditional schools have stayed put which has attracted a few more teams and we hope we shall achieve our targets," said Uganda rugby union western region development officer Timothy Iraka.

The top three teams that is Mbarara High School, Ntare School and St Kagwa automatically qualify for the USSSA national Ball games II rugby competitions due in Tororo starting July 9-19 while the forth side Muntuyera Kitunga can negotiate their way through a request.
