St Elizabeth Girls’ Volleyball Team remains an unchallenged force at the Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) Ankole Zone Ball Games II, having secured the title for the sixth consecutive time at the event held at Rubaare SS in Ntungamo. They beat Maryhill High School 3-0 in an exciting final at Rubaare Stadium — a familiar clash, as the two sides have met at this stage for the last five years.

The Kakiika-Mbarara City-based side has competed for only eight years but has emerged champions in six of those editions, also winning national titles in 2022 and 2023 — setting a benchmark for any other girls’ volleyball team in the Ankole region.

Meanwhile, Buremba SS returned to winning ways for the first time in eight years, clinching the boys’ volleyball title with a 2-0 victory over first-timers St Benedict’s Kakamba, reclaiming the accolade they last won in 2017.
