Kampala police have located Natukunda Sharon, a 29-year-old housewife from Kigowa 1, Bukoto Parish, Nakawa Division, who had been missing since December 16, 2024. Natukunda, whose disappearance prompted a missing persons report at Ntinda Police Station, was found in Kiteezi Parish, Wakiso District, on January 13, 2025.
The victim disappeared from her matrimonial home in Kigowa Village last month, leading her concerned parents to seek police intervention. After nearly a month of investigations, police received information that Natukunda had been sighted in Kabaga-Kayanga, a village in Kasangati Division, Wakiso District.
A police team traced her to the office of the local council chairman in Kiteezi. Natukunda then led the officers to her rented residence, which was located approximately 200 meters from the chairman's office.
During an interview with police, Natukunda revealed that her disappearance was driven by domestic violence allegedly perpetrated by her husband. She has since been taken to a hospital for medical evaluation and further care.
Authorities have not disclosed details about the husband’s involvement or the next steps in the investigation, but police emphasized their commitment to addressing cases of domestic violence and supporting victims. Further inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the case are ongoing.
