KAMPALA
The Uganda Police Force has confirmed the recovery of all six laptop computers stolen from the Bank of Uganda offices in Kampala earlier this month.
According to police, the theft occurred on the night of May 3, 2026, when unknown people broke into the Bank of Uganda offices located along Kampala Road and stole six laptop computers.
Police spokesperson Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said investigations into the matter are progressing steadily.
Authorities had earlier arrested two suspects and recovered two of the stolen laptops. However, continued investigations led to the arrest of two more suspects and the recovery of the remaining four laptops.
Police identified the suspects as Kule Boaz Micheal, Kabuya Ramathan alias Rama, Lubangakene Isaac Izoo, and Oedo Jorem Jude.
“All six stolen laptops have now been recovered and are being held as exhibits,” police said in a statement released on Tuesday.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court after the completion of the required legal procedures.
They are expected to face charges including office breaking, theft, receiving stolen property, and retaining stolen property.
