President Yoweri Museveni on Saturday attended the Kuhingira ceremony of his granddaughter, Sasii, the daughter of Natasha Museveni and Edwin Karugire.
The traditional ceremony, which marks an important milestone in marriage customs among the Banyankole and several western Uganda communities, was attended by family members, close friends, and invited guests.

President Museveni joined relatives and well-wishers in witnessing the occasion as the family celebrated the union. The event was marked by cultural displays, traditional attire, music, and festivities reflecting the rich heritage of Ankole culture.
Sasii is the daughter of Natasha Museveni, one of President Museveni’s children, and businessman Edwin Karugire.

The Kuhingira ceremony is a customary introduction and marriage rite that signifies family blessings and the formalisation of marriage preparations.

Guests at the ceremony described it as a joyous and colourful celebration that brought together family, culture, and tradition.
