Dire Dawa, Ethiopia
The national U17 men’s football team, The Cubs, will this afternoon face Sudan in their second Group B match at Dire Dawa Stadium in eastern Ethiopia. Defending champions Uganda began the tournament with an impressive 4–0 victory over Burundi on Saturday and will be hoping to maintain their strong form in today’s match, which kicks off at 4:00 pm East Africa Time. Head coach Layrea Kingston has made no changes to the squad, retaining the same starting eleven that convincingly defeated Burundi.

Ghanaian tactician Kingston will keep Ashiraf Lukyamuzi in goal, with Shakur Ngobi and Eze Kombi playing as full-backs, while Ibrahim Waita and Enock Mwesigwa anchor the central defense.
In midfield, the impressive Henry Muhoozi retains his holding role, with Thomas Ogema and team captain Owen Mukisa providing attacking support. Nicholas Kawooya and Lorian Lwesibawa will operate on the wings.
Ismail Fahad leads the attack as he searches for his first international goal at the junior level.
Uganda (yellow) started the title defence with a 4-0 win over Burundi
Uganda currently sits second behind Tanzania on goal difference, after Tanzania’s 6–0 win over Sudan in their opening match. A win for Uganda today would set up a decisive clash with Tanzania on November 21 to determine the Group B leader.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals in Addis Ababa. The third-place playoff and final will be held on December 2, after which three teams will qualify to represent CECAFA at the continental finals in Morocco next year.
