Entebbe Police have launched an investigation into a shocking case of aggravated defilement involving a minor, allegedly committed by her stepfather, Waggama Yusuf, a 40-year-old traditional healer.
The victim’s mother, Ninsiima Sharone, reported the incident after noticing her daughter's deteriorating health and unusual weakness. According to the police spokesperson, preliminary investigations reveal a disturbing pattern of abuse.

“Waggama Yusuf exploited his position of trust, persuading his wife to sleep in a shrine under the guise of traditional rituals, leaving him alone with the victim. During these instances, he allegedly performed non-consensual sexual acts on the minor repeatedly,” police spokesperson Patrick Onyango explained.

In one instance, the abuse reportedly escalated after Yusuf attempted to assault his wife, causing her to flee their home and leaving the minor vulnerable.
The abuse came to light when Ninsiima observed her daughter's frailty and sought medical attention. A subsequent examination revealed the victim was pregnant, corroborating her mother’s suspicions and confirming the abuse.

Police have described the case as a grave betrayal of trust and a serious criminal offense. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are determined to bring the perpetrator to courts of laws.
