Soroti Police have arrested six leaders of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) on March 7, 2025, charging them with unlawful assembly, public nuisance, and assault.|

The group, led by FDC President Patrick Oboi Amuriat, alongside Hon. Ebwalu Jonathan and Hon. Alobo Joan, began their protest with mobilization efforts at the FDC offices in Akisim Cell 2, Akisim Ward. They later moved onto Soroti Main Street, where they reportedly blocked the road and burned tires, leading to a major traffic disruption.

The protest escalated when members of the crowd allegedly assaulted police officers, prompting law enforcement to intervene and disperse the demonstrators.

The arrested individuals are currently being held at Soroti City East Division as investigations continue.
