The State House Anti-Corruption Unit, in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Directorate and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, has arraigned Adokorach Gloria, a medical radiographer at Yumbe Referral Hospital, before the Koboko Chief Magistrates Court on charges of obtaining money by false pretenses and neglect of duty.
Adokorach was initially employed as a midwife at Koboko General Hospital in 2013 but went on study leave until 2018. However, upon completing her studies, she failed to report back to duty yet continued to receive a salary from Koboko Local Government for a position she had abandoned. Her actions resulted in a financial loss of over UGX 40 million to the government.
The accused was remanded until March 13, 2025, as investigations into the matter continue.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to cracking down on corruption and ensuring accountability within public service institutions.
