Morogoro, Tanzania
USSSA Ankole Zone girls' football champions Boni Consilii joined Uganda's successful representatives on day two of the ongoing FEASSA Games in Morogoro, securing an emphatic 3–0 victory over hosts Kilombero SS on Saturday.
Having made a difficult start to their second appearance at the games with a 1–0 defeat to fellow Ugandans Amus College on day one, Brenda Nasazzi's girls regrouped and responded strongly.
Their reorganisation paid off when Biba Nengamba put Boni Consilii ahead before talisman Rinah Ariho added a second. Team captain and attacking engine Peace Muduwa then completed the scoring to seal a convincing victory for the Isingiro-based side.
"We are happy that we have got the result we wanted, and we are going to prepare even better for the coming games because our target this year is to perform better than we did in our first appearance last year," said Boni Consilii games teacher Primus Ngabirano.

On their debut in Kakamega last year, Boni Consilii failed to progress beyond the group stages but left a mark with a 2–1 victory over favourites Butere Girls, a result that also eliminated the Kenyan champions.
Their next opponent will be Kenya's 2026 champions, St Joseph's Girls Kitale. Following their 0–0 draw against Amus College on Saturday, the Isingiro outfit will need a victory to guarantee a place in the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Uganda girls' champions Rines SS continued their perfect start to the tournament on debut with a 3–1 victory over Kenya's silver medallists, Nyakach Girls. The result gave Rines two wins from as many matches and secured their place in the semi-finals.
Uganda make strong progress in volleyball
In volleyball, Uganda's teams continued to perform strongly, showing signs that they could challenge Kenya's dominance, which has seen the Kenyans win both the boys' and girls' titles for the past 15 years.
Uganda champions Namugongo made it two wins from two matches with a 3–0 victory over Tanzania's Kalua, having opened their campaign with a 3–2 win over Kenya's silver medallists, ACK Chepsaita Secondary School.
Uganda's silver medallists, Bukedea Comprehensive School, also registered an emphatic 3–1 victory over Kenya's champions, Chesamisi Boys High School, to keep alive their hopes of winning their maiden FEASSA title.
St Jerome Ndama, Uganda's bronze medallists, also recorded a 3–0 victory over 2024 champions ETE of Burundi.
In the girls' category, Uganda champions Bukedea Comprehensive School proved too strong for Kenya's silver medallists, Soweto, defeating them 3–0.
Teams from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi are competing in 22 disciplines, with Uganda continuing to post positive results across several events.
The games will officially be opened today, Sunday, with the opening ceremony presided over by Tanzania's Minister of Education, Adolf Mkenda, at Jamhuri Stadium in the heart of Morogoro City.
