KAMPALA

Three people have been confirmed dead following a fatal road crash at the Impala Interchange along the Kampala–Entebbe Expressway early Tuesday morning.
According to Michael Kananura, the crash occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. and involved a Toyota Land Cruiser registration number UBG 734S.
Kananura said the driver, Ssenyonjo Bosco, a businessman and resident of Masaka, was travelling with family members towards Entebbe when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to speeding.
“The vehicle first knocked the base of a street light pole before hitting a road pillar and overturning several times,” Kananura said.

Police confirmed that three occupants, including the driver, died instantly at the scene, while two other passengers sustained severe injuries.
A team from the Uganda Police Force Traffic Directorate responded to the scene, rescued the injured victims and rushed them to Grade B Hospital where they received first aid before being referred to another medical facility for further treatment.

The bodies of the deceased were later conveyed to City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examination.
Police said investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, while urging motorists to observe speed limits and exercise caution while using the expressway.
