KAJANSI – Police have arrested three suspects in connection with an attempted armed robbery at the residence of Lutaaya Emma in Kajansi, following multiple failed attempts to breach the property.
According to a statement from the Kajansi Police, intelligence units were alerted on October 4, 2024, about a group of youths armed with machetes who were allegedly planning to attack Lutaaya's home. Acting swiftly on the information, police tracked the suspects, who were identified riding a red motorcycle with registration number UGG 158A. The group was observed carrying machetes and knives while tailing Mr. Lutaaya and his wife.
The suspects initially tried to scale the wall of Lutaaya's residence, but their efforts were thwarted by the presence of guard dogs. Despite this failure, the same group made another attempt to breach the home on October 7, 2024. Finally, on October 11, 2024, police arrested three suspects—Mubiru Steven, Kayanja Frank, and Mutebi Philip. The motorcycle used in their operations was also confiscated as evidence.
The suspects have since confessed to planning the attacks, revealing that Mubiru Steven had provided them with information about Mr. Lutaaya's financial situation, which motivated the planned robbery.
The police are continuing their investigation and have assured the public that they will work diligently to bring all those involved to justice.
