Locals had reportedly raised concerns about Mpuga’s consistent demands for bribes in exchange for job placements within the district. Following these allegations, a thorough investigation was launched, leading to Mpuga’s arrest and subsequent charges.
Mpuga has been remanded in custody until October 14, 2024, when his case will be heard again.
