Thirty-eight individuals have been arrested at Budaka District Headquarters for presenting forged academic documents during the ongoing Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) recruitment exercise in the Bukedi region.
The suspects were apprehended on Thursday as the recruitment team screened applicants’ credentials.
Brig Gen Michael Ssozi Ssesanga, who is overseeing the exercise, urged applicants to present only genuine academic papers, stressing that the recruitment process is proceeding smoothly. He warned that anyone attempting to cheat the system would be arrested and prosecuted.
The army officer also commended local leaders for their cooperation and support in ensuring a transparent and fair recruitment process.
