BANSWARA – What began as a hopeful journey toward a new life abroad ended in unimaginable tragedy, as an Indian family of five was among the victims of the Air India Flight 171 crash on its way to London.
Dr. Pratik Joshi, a software professional who had been living in London since 2016, had long dreamed of bringing his family to join him overseas. That dream was finally coming true. Just two days prior, his wife, Dr. Kamini Joshi, a renowned physician at Udaipur Medical College, resigned from her job. Their bags were packed, farewells made, and their hearts were full of anticipation.
Early this morning, Dr. Pratik, Dr. Kamini, and their three children — including twin sons Nakul and Pradyut — boarded Air India Flight 171 in Ahmedabad, bound for London. Before takeoff, they clicked a final family selfie and shared it with relatives. It was meant to be the beginning of a new chapter.
Instead, it ended in devastation. The flight tragically crashed shortly after takeoff. No one aboard survived.
In moments, a lifetime of planning, sacrifice, and dreams was extinguished — a brutal reminder of life’s terrifying fragility. Everything built, hoped for, and loved, gone in an instant.
