The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ankole Zone girls' football champions, Boni Consilii Girls School Isingiro, have finalized their preparations and are ready for the National Ball Games I, set to kick off this Monday at Bukedea Comprehensive School in Teso. The Isingiro-based side learned of their opponents on Friday following the USSSA national draws held in Kampala.
Having emerged champions of the USSSA U16 Girls Football Competition in Soroti in September last year, Boni Consilii is eager to test its strength against the best at the seven-day national championship.
“We are happy with the draws and ready for the challenge. We know that teams at the national level are not a joke—they come prepared to face anyone, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do: challenge the best,” said team manager Primus Ngabirano. The team is fresh from competing in the inaugural CFA Girls Integrated Football Tournament (GIFT) U17 Championship in Tanzania, where they finished 4th out of 8 teams from across the region.

According to the draw, Boni Consilii is placed in Group L alongside Acaba SS, Tororo Girls, and Newton SS, in a 16-group format. The top two teams from each group will progress to the round of 32, followed by the round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and ultimately the finals.
Defending and record champions Kawempe Muslim are in Group A with Taggy High, Jinja Comprehensive, and Katikamu SDA.
FEASSA champions St Noa Girls are in Group H alongside Highway Kiganda, Lammenais Kyoreta, and a yet-to-be-named late entrant, while 2023 champions Amus College headline Group I with 2018 winners Gaddafi Integrated, Fairway, and Maryhill High School.
The USSSA Ball Games I will feature a variety of sports disciplines, including girls’ football, basketball, rugby 15s, table tennis, badminton, tennis, hockey, and U16 competitions in handball, volleyball, and netball.
