The deceased, identified as Patrick Tibayungwa, 42, a resident of Rwamabare Village, Bumbaire Parish, Bumbaire Sub-county, died on June 7 while being rushed to hospital for treatment after allegedly sustaining injuries from repeated assaults.
According to police, the suspect, David Mugumya, a resident of the same village and brother to the deceased, had earlier been reported for assaulting Tibayungwa on June 5.
