Police in Ibanda District are investigating a shocking incident in which a woman’s right hand was severed during an alleged attack. The incident occurred on August 25, 2024, at around 5:00 PM in Bufunda 1 Cell, Bufunda Ward, Bufunda Division, Ibanda Municipality. According to reports, a man identified as Alex allegedly attacked Mbabazi Catherine with a panga, severing her right hand. The attack was reportedly motivated by accusations that Mbabazi was involved in an extramarital affair.

Mbabazi was rushed to Kasande Clinic in Ibanda Municipality, where she is receiving treatment for her injuries.
So far, no arrests have been made, but police are continuing their investigations into the matter.
SP Kasasira Samson, PRO Rwizi, confirmed the ongoing inquiries and urged the public to remain calm as the investigation unfolds.
