This year’s third round of the FMU Autocross Championship will once again be hosted by Mbarara Motor Club at Mwesigwa Resort in Kibega, Sanga. The confirmation was announced Tuesday afternoon by officials from the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) during the official launch of the one-day event at the hosting venue. Speaking to the press, Clerk of the Course (COC) Dick Ssemengo revealed that the event will feature rally cars competing on a double 7km route before the Enduro and Motocross categories also take to the track.
“We are expecting a much more entertaining competition this time round because we shall have both rally cars and enduro motorcycles competing for honours,” Ssemengo said.

Event manager Happy Katehangwa echoed the excitement but also urged fans to observe safety guidelines.
“We are expecting a thrilling competition that will also include a motocross challenge, and we thank the event sponsor, Hon. Robert Rukaari. But caution goes to the fans: they must watch the competition only from the designated safety points. It is important that we all cooperate for the success of the event, because if anything goes wrong, we may not be allowed to host it here again,” Katehangwa warned.

This marks the third consecutive year that Mbarara is hosting the FMU Autocross, thanks to the successful organization of the past two events at Mwesigwa Resort without any major incidents.
The FMU Autocross Championship primarily provides a platform for rookie drivers in the early stages of their rally careers, though it also attracts elite competitors. Last year, veteran driver Nasser Mutebi claimed victory.
