Morogoro, Tanzania
Uganda's teams shook off the fatigue of the long journey to make a strong start at the 23rd edition of the Federation of East Africa School Sports Association (FEASSA) Games, which commenced on Friday in the Tanzanian city of Morogoro.
The Ugandan contingent travelled in different groups and arrived in Morogoro, about 1,670 kilometres from the Ugandan capital, Kampala, on different days and at different times. However, the teams quickly recovered from the journey to make an impressive start to the games.

Uganda dominated the opening matches, particularly in netball, football, badminton, table tennis, chess and basketball, disciplines in which Ugandan schools have traditionally performed strongly.
In netball, all four Ugandan teams — defending champions and record winners St Mary's Kitende, St Noa, debutants Light College Katikamu and Hamdan Islamic — registered victories, setting the stage for what could be another all-Uganda netball semi-final affair.

Action continues today at different venues across Morogoro.
