The Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC), in conjunction with the Presidential Initiative on Banana Industrial Development / Banana Industrial Research and Development Centre (PIBID/BIRDC), has released the routes for the Olympics Day Tooke Run, which is scheduled for June 20 in Bushenyi.
Both male and female participants will compete in the 21km senior race, the 10km race, and the 5km race, which has been designed for children under 16, fun runners, and walk participants.
All races will start and end at Bushenyi Stadium, except for the 21km race, which will start in Mitooma Town and finish at Bushenyi Stadium.

The 10km race participants will be flagged off from Bushenyi Stadium, proceed upwards and join Liberation Road, then connect to the Mbarara–Ishaka Road, turn left and join Tank Hill Road, before rejoining the Ishaka–Mbarara Road. They will then proceed to Bushenyi High Court, turn left and follow the valley towards Motiver Grand Motel in Nshozi, turn right again, and finish at Bushenyi Stadium.

The 5km fun run and children's race participants will also start from Bushenyi Stadium, proceed through Liberation Road and join the Ishaka–Mbarara Road, reach Bushenyi High Court, turn left and follow the valley towards Nshozi before turning back to Bushenyi town.

Timothy Masaba, the event technical manager, revealed that the routes were carefully designed by technical officials from UOC and comply with marathon race standards.
"The technical people from UOC designed these routes, and the runners will face challenges similar to those encountered during international competitions," Masaba said.

A total of Shs120 million has been allocated as prize money across the different categories for both men and women, with the biggest winners expected to come from the 21km race, where first-place finishers in both the men's and women's categories will each receive Shs15 million.
Besides the prize money for top performers, all participants will receive ceremonial medals and gift hampers. The medals have been uniquely designed in the shape of banana fingers.

Held under the theme "Move, Learn and Discover for Nutrition Care," the run seeks to raise support for Uganda's team heading to the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026, promote healthy lifestyles, and champion nutrition awareness through the power of sport.
