KASESE
Police in Hima Division, Kasese District, are investigating the murder of a 17-year-old teenager who was allegedly strangled at Kasojo Cell, Kisenyi Ward, Hima Town Council.
The deceased has been identified as Bwambale Wisborna, a resident of Kasojo Cell.
Rwenzori East Regional Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate said the incident occurred after midnight on September 20, 2026, at the deceased's residence, although the exact time of the killing had not been established.

Maate said that at about 1am, Bwambale returned home and knocked on the door, which was opened by Turyasingura Reagan, 10, with whom he was staying.
The two reportedly went to sleep, but Bwambale was discovered dead the following morning when a colleague with whom they had been making chapatis went to wake him up.
Police were alerted by the area chairperson, John Bato, and officers visited and documented the scene.
Maate said the police canine unit could not be deployed because the scene had already been tampered with.
The deceased's body was retrieved and taken to Kasese Municipality Health Centre for a postmortem examination.
According to Maate, Bwambale was found with a piece of cloth tied around his neck, which is suspected to have been used in the strangulation. His legs were also tied with a similar piece of cloth.
Preliminary police findings suggest that Bwambale may have been killed outside the house before his body was taken inside.
“He is suspected to have been killed from outside and the body taken back inside before bolting the door from outside since nobody heard anything from the neighbourhood,” Maate said.
Police have launched investigations to establish the motive for the killing and identify the suspects.
“Inquiries were initiated to establish the motive and suspects,” Maate said.
