Bushenyi – Police in Bushenyi District are investigating the mysterious death of Matthias Muller, a 46-year-old German national. Muller passed away on March 27, 2025, at 7:30 am at Kampala International University Teaching Hospital in Ishaka Division, Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that Muller, a German national holding passport number CCJOM7LZW, was visiting his longtime friend, Sad Mugisha Kadingidi, a resident of Kyenzaza Cell, Rubirizi District, at the time of his death.
According to Kadingidi, a 48-year-old DJ, he first met Muller in Kigali, Rwanda, in 2017 while performing. The two became friends, and Muller later visited Kadingidi's home in Rubirizi District before returning to Germany.
However, on March 18, 2025, Muller returned to visit Kadingidi in Rubirizi District, where Kadingidi noticed that he had a severe cough but was not taking any medication.
Muller was taken to St. Benjamin Diagnostic Centre in Kyenzaza, Rubirizi, for treatment, but his condition worsened.
"He was subsequently referred to Kampala International University Teaching Hospital, where he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Unfortunately, Muller's health continued to deteriorate, and he was pronounced dead on March 27, 2025, at around 7:30 am," Tumusiime revealed.
