Kampala Queens had already secured the title before the final game, having collected the highest number of points from their 21 matches—far ahead of last season’s champions, Kawempe Muslim. They only needed to honor the last fixture against She Maroons to complete their 22-match season schedule.
Shamirah Nalugya scored in the first half after calmly converting a penalty, but She Maroons denied the champions a winning finish when Fiona Lucy Atono equalized in the 71st minute, ending the match in a 1-1 draw.
FUFA 3rd Vice President Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi presided over the award ceremony, alongside Margret Kubingi, Chairperson of the Uganda Women Football Association (UWFA); Joanne Katushabe, Manager of Marketing Communications and Public Relations at Finance Trust Bank; Aminah Bukenya, Executive Board Member of Kampala Queens FC; and Percy Lubega, Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Finance Trust Bank.
