Uganda Airlines is set to begin the process of recruiting a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to replace Jennifer Bamuturaki, who has served in the role since July 2022.The development follows an internal email sent by Bamuturaki to staff of the national carrier, notifying them that the airline’s Board will soon advertise the CEO position and encouraging eligible employees to apply. “The Board will advertise the position of Chief Executive Officer shortly, and you are all encouraged to apply if you meet the required qualifications,” reads part of the email, which has since circulated internally.

According to the communication, the job description and application form will be published on the airline’s official website once the advertisement is officially released.

Bamuturaki’s message signals an imminent leadership transition at Uganda Airlines, although no official statement has yet been issued by the Board regarding her departure or the timeline for the recruitment process.

Uganda Airlines, the country’s national carrier, was revived in 2019 as part of government efforts to boost regional and international connectivity, tourism, and trade. The airline has since expanded its route network and fleet, operating both regional and long-haul flights.
