Makonda shared her experience in a Facebook post, having served half eaten cold food

MBARARA

Popular Ugandan singer Ray G's mother, Laetitia Makonda, has sparked widespread discussion on social media after accusing Baguma Restaurant's Mbarara branch of serving her what she described as a disappointing takeaway meal.

Makonda shared her experience in a Facebook post, claiming she paid UGX 20,000 for a mixed takeaway meal with chicken, expecting the quality the restaurant has long been known for. However, she said she was shocked when she got home and opened the package.
According to her, one of the takeaway boxes contained what appeared to be a half-eaten piece of chicken, while the matooke was cold, hard, and tasted as though it had been cooked the previous night.

Expressing her disappointment, Makonda wrote:

"Hi. Guys in Mbarara, what happened to Baguma Restaurant? What happened to okugashura? I am just from there. I ordered mixed food and chicken takeaway. They asked me to pay 20k, I paid, and they packed it for me. I didn't check because I had that picture of okugashura in mind.

"Baanamwe! Reaching home to open my takeaway box... one box had a piece of chicken that was half eaten, tasting like obuhoro, while another had very hard matooke sprinkled with rice.

"What a disappointment! I can't stop crying for my 20k."

Her post quickly attracted reactions from social media users, with many expressing sympathy and sharing their own experiences, while others urged customers to always inspect takeaway orders before leaving restaurants.
The allegations have also reignited conversations about customer service and quality control in some of Mbarara City's popular eateries.

Efforts to obtain a response from Baguma Restaurant were unsuccessful. We contacted the restaurant for a comment regarding Makonda's allegations, but no official response had been provided by the time of publication.

It remains unclear what may have led to the alleged incident, and the restaurant has yet to publicly address the claims.
As the story continues to circulate online, many customers will be watching closely to see whether the restaurant responds to the concerns raised by one of the region's well-known public figures.
