Entebbe — Police in Entebbe Division have launched a full investigation into a shocking incident of double murder and suspected aggravated robbery that claimed the lives of an elderly couple in Lugonjo Nakiwogo Cell, Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District. According to Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the victims have been identified as Mutaaga David, 69, and his wife, Mutaaga Deborah Florence, 62.
The couple was found dead at their residence on July 6, 2025, after a worker attached to the household alerted authorities to a suspected attack. A team of officers swiftly responded to the scene, where they discovered the bodies bearing fatal stab wounds. “Preliminary examination revealed that both victims had sustained fatal stab wounds,” Owoyesigyire confirmed.
Police crime scene experts documented the scene and collected several exhibits of evidential value, which have been submitted for forensic analysis. The bodies were conveyed to the City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examinations to support ongoing inquiries.
While the motive behind the gruesome attack remains unclear, detectives have not ruled out robbery as a possible motive. “The motive behind this heinous crime is still under investigation and will be communicated in due course. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspect(s),” Owoyesigyire said.
He strongly condemned the attack and reassured the public of police commitment to pursue the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
“We condemn this act in the strongest terms and wish to reassure the public that we are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice,” he added.
Police have appealed to residents to remain calm but vigilant and to share any information that could aid the investigation.
Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
