Bushenyi –
Over 200 Muslim youths from across the Greater Bushenyi districts have completed a three-day training workshop held at Bassajabalaba Main Mosque in Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality. The program drew participants from Sheema, Bushenyi, Rubirizi, Mitooma, and Buhweju districts. Sheikh Kisheka Iddi Abdulahuman, Secretary for Daawa in Bushenyi Muslim District, urged the youth to be good ambassadors in their communities by upholding Islamic principles, moral conduct, and knowledge of Allah to foster discipline and uprightness.
“As Muslim youth, you have the energy and influence to positively shape your schools, families, and communities. Use it wisely and always uphold the values of our faith,” he said.
He explained that the workshop aimed to equip Muslim youth with knowledge and awareness, particularly on legal matters, to protect them from being manipulated by politicians or lured into rebellious activities.
“When you guide the youth correctly, you impact not only their lives but also the broader community. Be vigilant, be informed, and spread the message of peace and morality,” Sheikh Kisheka advised.
Facilitator Sheikh Asiram Karakyi encouraged parents to prioritize education and proper upbringing, describing it as a vital investment.
“The best investment you can make is in the upbringing and education of your children. Instill values, love for Islam, and respect for others. They are the leaders of tomorrow,” he said.
Participants praised the workshop for its life-changing lessons. Abdulahim Bin Majidu from Mitooma District said:
“This workshop has taught us how to uphold Islamic values, avoid bad influences, and positively contribute to our communities. We are grateful to the District Khazi and the Secretary for Daawa for this initiative.”
Kyomugisha Fazira from Katerera in Rubirizi District, who represented the girls, added:
“We learned about mindset change, Islamic laws protecting human life, preventing early marriages, and the importance of prayer. These lessons will help us grow into responsible and disciplined youth who can make a difference in our communities.”
