The local football governing body, FUFA, has slapped a 90-day ban on Buhimba United Saints FC players over allegations of match-fixing.
According to a statement from the association, “The Investigatory Chamber of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee imposed a provisional 90-day suspension on three players arising from their potential involvement in the manipulation of football results,” read part of the statement.

The sanctions arise from an investigation into the match played between Lugazi FC and Buhimba United Saints on November 8, 2025, which Buhimba won 5–2. However, information gathered so far indicates that the match may have been manipulated for betting purposes.

The players sanctioned are Moses Ayebale, Ramathan Dudu, and Fred Nkata, all of the said club, who featured in the game. Following receipt of information about the alleged manipulation, the Investigatory Chamber commenced investigations into the match.

Evidence obtained so far indicates potential involvement of the provisionally sanctioned players. Formal investigation proceedings for a possible violation of Article 43 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code (Manipulation of Football Matches or Competitions) have been opened. FUFA also noted that the conduct of the individuals involved appears to violate criminal provisions of the National Sports Act, and the matter will be reported to the Uganda Police.

In accordance with Section 78 of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Code, the Chairperson of the Investigatory Chamber of the FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee decided to provisionally suspend the players pending completion of the investigation, in order to protect the integrity of the competition.

Buhimba United Saints FC is playing in their maiden Uganda Premier League season after being among the three teams promoted for the current 2025/2026 campaign.
