Mbarara city leaders and Police inspect a section of dormitory at Shuhadal Islamic secondary school that was caught by fire.

Police in Mbarara City South Division is investigating a case of suspected arson that occurred today the 21/06/2024 at around 0400/c in the morning where fire gutted a boys dormitory of Shuhudal Islamic Secondary School located in Nyamitanga cell Mbarara City South Division that houses 202 students of S.2 and S.3.
Inside the dormitory where many items including student's belongings perished in fire.
The Police Fire and Rescue Services responded to the scene after receiving the information and managed to put out the fire with assistance from the Nyamitanga Diocese Fire Brigade.
The students housed in Darasalam dormitory were able to escape without injuries apart from one Baingana Sulaiman aged 17 years who got injuries on his back and arms
There was total damage to property in the dormitory but the Police Fire department was able stop the fire from spreading to other structures
The cause of the fire has not been established yet but investigations into the matter are still ongoing.
