Ugandan football continues to make steady progress in developing qualified technical personnel, following the successful completion of the CAF B Coaching Course by a group of 25 coaches, including several former football stars. The coaches have been undergoing the intensive training since June 2025 at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

A CAF B License is the second-highest coaching qualification awarded by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). It is also the minimum requirement for any coach to be appointed to the technical staff of a top-tier league club in Uganda. The course was facilitated by CAF instructors Douglas Bamweyana, Jackson Nyima, and Livingstone Kyabadde.

During the closing ceremony, FUFA’s Director of Football Development, Bashir Mutyaba, presided over the event and awarded the participants with certificates of completion.
“We are proud of this milestone. It shows FUFA’s commitment to professionalizing football in Uganda by investing in the technical capacity of our coaches,” Mutyaba remarked.
