Somali referee Omar Artan, who was denied entry into the United States to officiate at the World Cup, will still receive his full tournament allowances.
Artan was denied entry upon arrival in Miami after being interrogated for 11 hours by U.S. immigration authorities at Miami International Airport.

He was subsequently sent back to Istanbul, Turkey, and later returned to his home in Mogadishu, despite possessing a valid diplomatic passport and a U.S. visa.
His denial of entry by the United States has since gone viral, with people around the world, including some American activists, condemning the U.S. government's actions.

UEFA also announced that Artan will officiate the Super Cup match between Champions League winners PSG and Europa League champions Aston Villa in August, while FIFA announced that it will appoint the 34-year-old to officiate at the 2030 World Cup.

Following these developments, FIFA has confirmed that Artan will receive his full fee even though he will not be officiating at the tournament, which began last week.
Referees do not know the exact amount they will receive for officiating at the World Cup, as payments are made after the tournament concludes.
