Southern Lebanon - Three Lebanese journalists covering the ongoing conflict were killed in what appears to have been a targeted Israeli airstrike on their accommodation in Hasbaiyya, southern Lebanon. Their deaths have escalated regional tensions, leading Hezbollah to launch a drone strike on an Israeli military base near the northern border. Israeli authorities have yet to comment on the incident involving the journalists.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for a missile assault on Israeli soldiers stationed near Odaisseh in southern Lebanon, stating that it inflicted heavy casualties, including the destruction of a Hummer military vehicle. The Israeli military reported the deaths of at least ten soldiers in various clashes along the Lebanese border over the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, a rocket barrage from Lebanon into northern Israel claimed two civilian lives near the Galilee region's Majd al-Krum. Hospital sources confirmed that a 22-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman died from shrapnel wounds. The Israeli military responded with missile defense systems, intercepting approximately 30 projectiles aimed at populated areas. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz condemned the attack, accusing Hezbollah of indiscriminate violence against civilians of all backgrounds.
In Gaza, the human toll continues to rise, with reports indicating 42,847 Palestinians killed and over 100,000 wounded since Israel’s military response to Hamas attacks began on October 7.

As both Hezbollah and Israel intensify strikes, UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon have raised alarms over increasing attacks on their observation posts. A statement from the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported 20 recent “incidents,” including the breaching of UNIFIL’s base by Israeli tanks, which injured five peacekeepers and disabled essential communication and surveillance equipment.

In a bid to renew ceasefire negotiations, an Israeli delegation will travel to Doha on Sunday, following joint announcements from Qatar and the United States. Negotiations are anticipated to address the urgent need for de-escalation across Gaza, Israel, and Lebanon.
