Obam Andrew, an advocate with Loi Advocates, appeared before the Anti-Corruption Court on charges of money laundering. According to the prosecution, between October 2022 and September 2024, Obam allegedly conspired with Kaliisa David, who served as Prof. Kanyeihamba’s driver, to fraudulently steal and transfer over USD 56,500.
The stolen funds were reportedly transferred using cheques stolen from Prof. Kanyeihamba and deposited into an account belonging to Loi Advocates, where Obam is the sole signatory.

Appearing before court, Obam was remanded until July 14, 2025, when he is expected to enter his plea.
Authorities have vowed to pursue all individuals involved in the theft and money laundering scheme to ensure justice for the renowned jurist.
