Veteran Ugandan rapper Keko has finally put years of speculation to rest by publicly confirming that she was in a romantic relationship with singer Sheebah Karungi for two years.
Speaking during a recent appearance on the Play It Loud podcast (Grown and Sexy segment), Keko openly addressed the rumours, stating:
“Yes, I did date Sheebah Karungi. We were together for two years, but we eventually parted ways because she felt her career wasn’t progressing in the right direction.”
The revelation has sent shockwaves through Uganda’s entertainment industry, confirming long-standing rumours about the nature of the close bond between the two female artistes, who were once very close before their relationship reportedly soured.
Keko, whose real name is Jocelyne Tracey Keko, explained that the breakup occurred around the period when her own career was at its peak while Sheebah was facing career uncertainties. She further alleged that manager Jeff Kiwa’s involvement in Sheebah’s career created further distance between them.
The confirmation has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some fans expressing surprise, while others shared memes and called for Sheebah’s response to the claims. Sheebah Karungi has not yet issued a statement regarding Keko’s revelations.

Keko and Sheebah were previously known to have had a public fallout several years ago, with their once-close friendship turning cold after Keko relocated to Canada.
This latest disclosure comes as Keko makes a return to the Ugandan music scene after a long hiatus. More details are expected to emerge as the story develops.
