The Pepsi University Football League (PUFL) returns on Tuesday with Makerere University hosting the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) at the Makerere Grounds.
Makerere University will be hoping to make amends after their opening 1–0 loss to Kumi University, a match decided by Saidi Muthir’s header early in the second half of a highly contested Group E encounter played in Kumi a few weeks ago.

The 2012 inaugural champions, who were later awarded six points after their opponents breached tournament rules, have not returned to the podium since. Their recent campaigns have also been marred by disciplinary challenges, including suspension from the competition due to fan violence.
The Makerere vs IUIU clash will be followed by a Group B encounter between Bugema University and an improved Bishop Stuart University (BSU), who have started strongly on their return from suspension—registering a draw and a win to top their group with four points.
Meanwhile, Kabale University were held to a 1–1 draw away to Africa Renewal University after Abdul Kamoga’s 5th-minute strike was canceled out by Jamil Kasuja’s 55th-minute equalizer from the penalty spot.
