The accident has sparked outrage among local residents, who described this section of the Mbarara-Ishaka Road as a "death trap." Witnesses at the scene pointed to the deteriorating state of the highway, noting that the road is currently riddled with deep potholes that make navigation extremely hazardous for motorists. Community members are now calling upon the government, specifically the Ministry of Works and Transport, to take immediate action towards the rehabilitation of the highway to prevent further loss of life.
