Sheema - Sheema District Kadhi, Sheikh Sulaiman Kafeero, has called upon Muslims to observe the six days of Shawwal fasting, emphasizing its importance in spiritual purification, self-discipline, and strengthening one's connection with Allah.
Sheikh Kafeero made the appeal while leading Eid al-Fitr prayers at Kabwohe Main Mosque in Sheema Municipality. He reminded worshippers of the great reward associated with fasting in the month of Shawwal, which immediately follows Ramadan.
"Whoever fasts during Ramadan and follows it with six days of Shawwal, it will be as if they fasted for a lifetime," Sheikh Kafeero stated, encouraging Muslims to take advantage of this opportunity for increased blessings.
Community development and unity encouraged
Speaking at the same event, Sheema District LC5 Chairperson, Jemimah Buhanda, urged the Muslim community to work together for the social and economic transformation of their district.
"Let us unite and support each other in our endeavors," Buhanda said, pledging her support for Muslim-led projects and initiatives aimed at fostering development and cooperation within the community.
The Eid prayers were attended by hundreds of faithful who gathered to mark the end of Ramadan and celebrate the beginning of Shawwal. Religious leaders and community representatives reiterated the need for unity, peace, and continued devotion to Islamic teachings.
As Muslims embark on the post-Ramadan fasting, Sheikh Kafeero encouraged them to remain steadfast in their faith and uphold the discipline gained during the holy month.
